National Parks Open for Tourists

Tourists coming into the country will now have the chance to live in the wild, amid hundreds of species of animals, birds and plants. Diversifying tourism products, Bhutan’s 10 “protected” areas will now be opened for tourists, an outcome of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests (MoAF).

ABTO President for 2010

During the 63rd ABTO Executive Committee meeting held on 29th July 2010, President Yeshey Norbu formally submitted his resignation to the Committee from the post of ABTO President-ship. The reason for his resignation being mainly, not being able to commit adequate time towards the Association, hence his inability to do justice to the post as well as to the Association and its members.

New Check-In Counter for Druk Air in New Delhi

With the opening and operation of the new terminal, Terminal 3 at New Delhi (Indra Gandhi International Airport), Druk Air has been allotted with new new check-in counter. Currently for the period from 30th July – 3rd August 2010, Druk Air check in counter will be L8 to L10.

Visa and MasterCard in Bhutan

Less than a week after the oldest bank, Bank of Bhutan (BoB) became a member of MasterCard, it has now become a primary member of Visa. Visa like MasterCard provides financial institutions the right to issue Visa-branded credit and debit cards used to its customers.
