Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators (ABTO) is organising for the first time a festival purely based on Bhutan’s traditional culture and heritage called Bhutan Folk Festival in Lekithang, Punakha from 13 – 15 December, 2008.
This festival is unlike any other Tsechu, since it is based and focused more on daily activities of people of Bhutan rather than mask dances. The objective of organising this festival is to create yet another attractive package unlike tsechu for tour operators to market during the off-season annually.
In this regard ABTO would like to invite all tour operators to kindly grace the occasion to experience the cultural showcase in order for you all to understand the package firsthand. Your presence during the festival will be highly appreciated and your valuable suggestions/comments thereafter would be a great input to further enhance the experience of the visitors in the following years.
All are requested to confirm your participation to this office by 11 December, 2008 on which days you will be participating. ABTO will provide all confirmed participants with suja/desi, lunch, evening tea and refreshment for all confirmed participants for the days confirmed. You may confirm participation for all three days too. However, all participants are requested to arrange their own accommodation and travel conveyance for the days you would like to participate.
Kindly be informed that HRH Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest for the opening ceremony on 13 December 2008.
